Day 1: Kaieteur Falls Tour, Arrive at Rock View Lodge & Iwokrama Canopy Walkway

You will depart Eugene F. Correia International Airport at 9:00hrs, for a one (1) hour flight to the Kaieteur National Park. Here you will enjoy a 2 hour private tour of Kaieteur Falls which is situated on the Potaro River and is the largest single drop waterfall in the world at 741 feet, five times the height of Niagara Falls. Light snacks will be provided.

You will view the majestic falls from two different vantage points, offering you an extensive view of the falls. The path of the tour also takes you along a trail where your tour guide will highlight interesting details about the flora & fauna as well as historical information.

The next part of your adventure begins with a (1) hour flight to Rock view Lodge in the village of Annai . Rock View Lodge is nestled between the Amerindian villages of Annai and Rupertee on the North Rupununi Savannahs of Guyana, where the foothills of the Pakaraima mountain range meet the tropical rainforest. Rock View is a hub within the Rupununi and makes places such as The Iwokrama International Centre Field Research Station (home of the Canopy Walkway), the fourteen villages of the indigenous Makushi people, excellent birding locations and other resorts such as Karanambu Resort and Cattle Ranch easily accessible.

After enjoying a traditional Rupununi lunch you’ll depart Rock View Lodge to visit the Iwokrama Canopy Walkway. You’ll pass through 35 miles of untouched rainforest to Guyana’s only canopy walkway, which offers magnificent view over the forest canopy ideal for bird watching and wildlife spotting.

After your tour you’ll head back over to Rock View Lodge to enjoy the sunset in the Rupununi Savannahs.
