Day 1

Arrive at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Guyana after which you will be transferred to Georgetown, the capital city and chief port of Guyana, which is situated on the right bank of the estuary of the Demerara River. This site was originally chosen as a fort to guard the early Dutch settlements of the river.  Upon arrival you will be checked into your Hotel.

Day 2

After breakfast at 8:45am, you will be transferred to the Eugene. F. Correia International Airport for your flight to Kaieteur Falls via Trans Guyana Airways flight at approximately 10:00am

Kaieteur Falls is situated on the Potaro Rivera and boasts the largest single drop in the world at 741 feet, five times the height of Niagara Falls.

After two hours hiking at Kaieteur, you will embark on a forty-five minutes flight to Baganara Island Resort.  Your afternoon can be as relaxing or adventurous as you decide.

After you have enjoyed our delicious buffet lunch, you will be invited to spend the afternoon just relaxing or choosing from a variety of activities such as canoeing, fishing, water-skiing, table tennis or volleyball to name a few.

Depart Baganara at approximately 4:30pm to Eugene. F. Correia International Airport after which you will be transferred to your Hotel.

Day 3

At 6:00am, you will be transferred to the Eugene.F.Correia International Airport to check in for your flight to Lethem via a scheduled Trans Guyana Airways flight which departs at 7:30am.

Upon arrival at Lethem, you will be transferred via road to your first destination; Rock View Lodge.

Rock View Lodge is nestled between the Amerindian villages of Annai and Rupertee on the North Rupununi Savannahs of Guyana, where the foothills of the Pakaraima mountain range meet the tropical rainforest.

Upon arrival, settle in your room after which you will enjoy a delicious lunch of local dishes.

As the afternoon cools you can enjoy a peaceful walk through the nearby nature trails with opportunities to see different species of birds and glimpses of wildlife.

If you are a novice at Horse backing riding, then this will be the perfect opportunity to learn.

Day 4

After breakfast depart Rock View Lodge to visit the Iwokrama’s Canopy Walkway, the new state of the art facility that winds through the treetops. The 154 metre (505 ft.) state-of-the-art Iwokrama Canopy Walkway offers a totally unique experience in the region and envelopes you in the jungle’s mid-level canopy through a series of suspension bridges and decks from heights of up to 30 metres (98 ft.).

You’ll have the chance to see birds like the Green Aracari, Scarlet Macaw, Guiana Toucanette or Channel-bill Toucan. Red Howler Monkeys may also be observed.  Check out the epiphytes such orchids and bromeliads, and look for the amazing parasitic Ficus plant as it engulfs another tree.  There is also the Greenheart Tree, the Waramadan (endemic in Guyana only to the Iwokrama Forest) and the poisonous Aromata!

As you return late afternoon to the River Lodge, you may catch a glimpse of the elusive Jaguar; South America’s largest cat.

Transfer from Iwokrama Rainforest to Rock View Lodge to enjoy the sunset in the Rupununi Savannahs.

Day 5

After breakfast, you will be transferred via road to Surama Village where you will spend the day.  The Amerindian community of Surama is located in the heart of Guyana. The village is set in five square miles of savannah which is ringed by the forest covered Pakaraima Mountains. Surama’s inhabitants are mainly from the Macushi tribe and still observe many of the traditional practices of their forebears.

A local guide will escort you for a short walk on a trail to observe the forest and bird life. Return to village for lunch and as the afternoon cools your guide will take you on a tour of the village; visit the local school, medical centre, church along with some of the village houses.

Our guides will then paddle you on the Burro Burro River for opportunities to observe Giant River Otters, Tapir, Tira, Spider Monkeys and many more species.  After you have enjoyed the village of Surama, be transferred to Rock View Lodge.

Day 6

After Breakfast, you will be transferred to Lethem for your scheduled Trans Guyana Airways flight to Eugene. F. Corriea International Airport which departs at approximately 1:30pm  Upon arrival at the Airport, you will then be transported to your Hotel.

Day 7

Depart your Hotel after breakfast for Eugene. F. Correia International Airport for your scheduled flight to Paramaribo via Trans Guyana Airways / Gum Air.

Paramaribo is the capital and largest city of Suriname, located on banks of the Suriname River in the Paramaribo District. The 17th-century capital of Suriname is graced with attractive Dutch, French, Spanish and British colonial architecture.  Upon arrival at Zorg-en-Hoop you will be transferred to your Hotel.

Enjoy the rest of the afternoon relaxing or take a stroll to either sightseeing or shopping purposes.

Day 8

After Breakfast, you will be taken along the magnificent Waterkant (waterfront) of

Suriname where a hundred years ago, large sailing ships came ashore to pick up sugar,

coffee and cocoa.  Here you will see ancient-old monumental buildings where rich

merchants and plantation owners used to live. You will be taken to Fort Zeelandia which

is now used as a museum.  Also we will continue our walk to the former Governor’s

Residence which now serves as the Presidential Palace.  Walking across the

Independence square you can also see the flag square.  After a short walk along,

amongst others, some of the governmental buildings in the Henck Arronstraat you will come upon the Saint Peter & Paul Cathedral.

We will have a drive over the Wijdenbosch brug which connects Paramaribo and the

district of Commewijine, a short visit to the market, to get an impression of the daily

living in Suriname, a visit to the 18th century Jewish Synagogue and the Islamic temple

who are standing in peace side by side.  A very unique sight! (Included: drinks – non-

alcoholic, snacks and a tour guide). As the afternoon cools, you can browse around the area or go shopping.

Day 9

After breakfast at your hotel embark on your tour to the Commewijine Plantations.

Across the Suriname River at the right river bank lays the District of Commewijine.

Commewijine has a rich Dutch History and your guide will take you to several old

plantations and tell the great stories behind each of them.

Starting at 9 hrs in the morning we will drive with a coaster or mini bus to Leonsberg.

From there we will take a traditional Javenese Boat across to the Museum Fort Nieuw

Amsterdam.  Here we will visit the old penitentiary, powerhouse and other remains of

the fort. From Nieuw Amsterdam, back on the boat this time we will go into the

Commewijine River.  We visit Rust and Werk, a former coffee plantation, we pass

Marienburg a former sugar plantation.  You have lunch at Frederiksdorp, old coffee and cocoa Plantation.

Travel back to Paramaribo at 17 hrs. (Included on the tour: snacks, drinks – no alcohol, lunch, guide and transportation.)

As the afternoon cools, you will be taken on a Dolphins-spotting trip via boat from Leonsburg which departs at 16:15 hrs and concludes at 19:15 Hrs. You will be searching for dolphins along the confluence of the Suriname and the Commewijne River or near the Atlantic Ocean until the sun sets. (Included on the tour: Snacks, drinks – also wine).

Day 10

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Airport for your flight to your next destination.
